Ajax- March 1, 2010 Ontario Minister Brad Duguid addressed a sold-out audience at the GTMA's International Breakfast Services today promoting the Government's Green Energy Act. Over 250 guests welcomed the Minister at the Ajax Convention Centre, as he delivered the Government's action plan to leverage the Green Energy Act to attract new investment, create new green economy jobs and better protect the climate.
"Ontario is emerging as the place of destination for green energy development, manufacturing, and expertise. This will not only supply green energy for Ontario's needs, but it also allows Ontario to stand poised ready to pounce on the green energy opportunities south of the border."
As the lead marketing agency for the Greater Toronto Area, the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance has been aggressive in targeting key investors in Europe and across the United States promoting the investment opportunities created by the Feed-in Green tariff program.
"We've been actively engaging the international business investment community in a dialogue to position to the GTA`s value proposition for investment in the energy sector. Recent business missions to Sweden, Denmark, Holland and Germany have identified a number of companies who are ready to look at the Toronto Region for their future expansion plans" commented George Hanus, President & COO, Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance.
The event also marked the launch of "VANTAGE - Greater Toronto," the GTMA's Foreign Direct Investment magazine which targets global investors and key investment decision makers across Europe, Asia, Australia, Middle East, South America and to over 35 states in the U.S. It also reaches out to Canadian and Ontario posts abroad, in Germany, France, China and India speaking to the GTA's and Ontario's business successes.

The success of the GTMA's International Leadership Breakfast Series comes on the eve of a key business mission planned by the GTMA to the U.S. meeting with pre-qualified investors looking to expand their footprint into the Canadian market.
