An Invitation to Participate:
Rationale: India has one of the highest
economic growth rates in the world and is now among the largest
economies with a GDP of more than $US 500 Billion.
The rising trend of investment by Indian firm's overseas
is placing India as a significant source of outward foreign
capital in the world” – according to a UN report.
Indians are investing in ICT, Life Sciences, Manufacturing,
Automotive companies and financial as well as non-financial
services.
Mission Objectives: Mission members will
have the opportunity to build relationships and alliances
in the region, make face-to-face contacts with key decision
makers in India and learn about the primary motivating factors
of Indian companies in making foreign direct investments decisions
(FDI).
Mission focus: Target sectors include: Information
Communication Technology (ICT) (including Media and Entertainment);
Advanced Manufacturing / Automotive; Education; Life Science
/ Biotechnology including Pharma and Healthcare and activities
such as BPO operations, R&D / Innovation and other businesses
services.
Who Should Participate? GTA organizations
seeking to establish strong linkages to India including: public
sector (government officials and Economic Development Officers);
private sector (such as firms in legal, management / accounting
/ tax, human resource / immigration, investment banking /
finance; industry / trade associations and sector-related
companies) and the institutional sector (Colleges and Universities).
This invitation is open to all businesses, institutions
and government agencies in the Greater Toronto Area
with interest in India.
